More Writing

For additional reading, here I have attached my blog posts in the Sweetland Minor in Writing Blog below along with some of my Creative Writing poetry below that. Even further down, I've included a sample lesson plan from my PE 336 Education class.

I'd say blogging was a large part of my self-reflection this semester, so as you read from September on, you really see my true voice come out, sarcasm included! Almost every week we were asked to blog about things we read about or how in process our work was. We were also put into blog groups, where we had two partners to give us constructive criticism, suggestions, and positive thoughts. By the end of the semester, our blog partners' writing style was all too familiar to us, and we were able to really give some awesome feedback. We discovered that we were the best people to help each other out, and we did! Below is my personal collection of blog posts from this semester.

As a Language Arts Elementary Education major, I have the pleasure of taking a variety of English classes. Currently, I'm in English 223--Creative Writing (10/10 would recommend). Our first portion of the class was dedicated to poetry, which is typically out of my element. Loved reading it, dreaded having to write it. But after full class workshop and some affirmation that my poetry didn't sound like a four year old wrote it, I really developed a love for it. Here is my English 223 Poetry Portfolio with four different poems that I really wrote more for myself than anyone else.

Below is a sample lesson plan that I used to teach first graders right here in Ann Arbor this semester through PE 336: Physical Education for Educators. It was a partner-taught lesson, and we ended up doing really well on it which was awesome. Just because this isn't your typical "writing" per say, I found it useful to know this lesson plan structure when creating the three I did for Teaching is a Work of Heart.
